upon returning to Cork after 18 years in San Francisco. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I made the difficult decision to close my salon, relocate with my family, and reconnect with my roots. Looking to reignite my creativity, I explored various courses and eventually transitioned into a role as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) at the very school I attended as a child. It was here that my passion for creativity was truly rekindled, sparking the creation of Holy Grail Candles.

At the core of my business is the mission to craft exquisite, soy-scented candles designed for meditation and setting positive intentions, enhanced by the calming crackle of a wood wick. I am proud to support local suppliers, with most of my materials sourced within Ireland.

To further reduce waste and lessen our impact on landfills, I also offer candle refills. My experience working in the school setting reinforced the importance of community and connection, which led me to begin hosting coffee and candle mornings. These events bring parents and students together to learn candle-making, fostering a shared sense of creativity and togetherness.

What started as a Friday night in my kitchen, creating candles while listening to music, has since blossomed into a successful online business. Each candle is inspired by meaningful retreats, people, or places that have touched me along my life’s journey. Last year, I moved my workspace from my kitchen to a retro caravan in my garden, which now serves as the home of Holy Grail Candles.

Today, I wear many hats—maker, creator, quality controller, packer, and shipper—but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am deeply grateful for the joy this business brings me. Please know that I use soy wax for its longer, cleaner burn, and my fragrance oils are free of harmful chemicals.
